Swim Trainer gives you the possibility to create your own workouts and to use them as a guided workout on your smartwatch (instructions for Garmin here and for Fitbit here).
You can create a workout from scratch or use an existing one as a basis. For the latter just open a workout and choose the “copy workout” option from the top menu. Note: You can have a maximum of 30 custom workouts.
You can give your workout a title, a description and set the pool size. You can learn how to add or edit individual sets here.
On the bottom of the screen below the “Create Workout / Save Changes” button you find a short summary of the workout, showing distance, its estimated duration (EST), and the number of repetitions (reps).
The EST is calculated based on your former swims. So the more swims you have logged, the more precise the EST gets.
A repetition (rep) is number of sets multiplied by its repetitions. For example: A set which is repeated 4 times accounts for 4 reps. If this set is part of a group which is repeated 2 times, you have 8 reps. We recommend not to have more than 40 single reps in a workout if you want to use it on your smartwatch, as this could be too much to handle for some devices.
